  • Business Continuity Management (BCM) is a holistic management process that identifies the impacts of disruptions to the organization’s business and maintains viable recovery strategies and plans that ensures the continued delivery of key business outcomes in the event of a disruption through training, exercising, maintenance and review. The BCM eLearning Course (BCM eLearn) is a series of computer-based, self-paced and interactive courses that forms part of ADB's ongoing BCM education and information program for raising, enhancing and maintaining awareness to ensure that business continuity and organizational resilience become part of the organization's core values and effective management.
  • Records management is beneficial to all organizations as it helps them maintain business continuity and accountability as well as accessibility and security of information. Through this course, staff will learn their role and responsibilities in ADB records management in accordance with AO 4.08. In simple terms, this course is about the what, who, when, where and how of the records life cycle. Staff will learn what information they should keep; who should have access to these records; until when should these records be kept; where should these records be kept; and how should these records be organized, preserved or disposed. This version focuses on the responsibilities of departments and the role of Management in the effective implementation of the system.
  • The e-Learn module on Cost Estimates is a preparatory course to gain basic understanding of the importance of robust project cost estimates, its guiding principles and detailed components. It contains 4 parts which can be completed at the convenience of staff, a self-test to assess knowledge gained, and a course certification upon successful completion. The online module is a pre-requisite to the hands-on advanced formal training on cost estimates.
  • Learn the requirements for Environmental Safeguards under ADB's Safeguard Policy Statement and how these apply to ADB projects. Topics include requirements for environmental assessment and management, biodiversity conservation and sustainable natural resources management, pollution prevention and abatement, occupational and community health and safety, and physical cultural resources. Links to useful resources and templates are also provided.
  • Research pertaining to achievement in business indicates more than the knowledge one acquires from a university education is important. This course focuses on two of the key skill sets required for achievement and success in modern organizations – critical thinking and problem solving. Critical thinking allows us to interpret what we observe and apply knowledge to produce effective responses. This process represents the essence of how we apply what we know. Problem solving is the core competence we need to guide our goal-oriented actions.

  • This e-Learning course introduces ADB’s financial products, including the LIBOR-Based Loan (LBL), the Local Currency Loan (LCL), and Debt Management Products; explains the main features of these products; and provides an overview of the basic terms and conditions.
  • ADB’s gender and development e-learning course targets staff and consultants new to gender mainstreaming who need to categorize projects under the Gender Mainstreaming category system, and are required to mainstream gender in projects and programs.
  • Researchers have reported for more than a decade that most large-scale organizational change efforts fail to reach their stated objectives. This course will comprehensively explore the reasons why organizational change is difficult to manage and what can be done to implement change fast and effectively.

  • This course provides a review of the ADB policies and approach to addressing climate change based on institutional policy and latest international developments. Climate change science, policy and economics are discussed in the context of ADB development lending. Included is a review of regional priorities for addressing climate change and ADB actions and future directions, as well as the identification of possible funding sources, and the design of actions for implementation to reduce vulnerability to climate hazards and adapt to climate variability.

  • This course consists of a variety of communication-related topics that range from making presentations, producing reports and proposals, to story-telling and active listening. We will also provide suggestions about making several types of effective one-one-one “conversations” related to specific situations like influencing someone’s behavior, dealing with performance problems, and constructively criticizing or disagreeing with someone with making them feel defensive or offended.

  • The team is the basic unit of performance in most modern organizations. This course will focus initially on how to form and develop high-performance teams. We will then turn our attention to team effectiveness and leadership. Special attention will also be placed on virtual teaming.
  • This course begins by focusing on the improving your creative skills and introducing a number of tools for creativity and innovation. We will present approaches to develop your creative skills and discuss various creativity tools you can deploy like brainstorming, mind mapping, and focus groups. Next we will review some of the best practices associated with applying creativity to solving problems. We conclude by discussing driving, coaching, and facilitating change.

Experts view EQ as the key to finding ways to apply and make the best use of the IQ each of us possesses. This course focuses on developing your EQ.

  • This course focuses on improving human performance through the application of Applied Behavior Analysis. We will also discuss a variety of issues related to those aspects of organizational culture that are related to human performance.

  • Learning, change and innovation cannot thrive in places where people do not have trust and confidence in Management, as well as among themselves.  Trust and integrity is a vital challenge, fundamental to popular issues such as knowledge sharing, loyalty, motivation, and willingness to change.  Without trust and integrity, resistance to change and ill feelings, even toward the status quo, are bound to be encountered.  In this course, we will discuss the different methods and effects of inspiring trust and integrity, as well and their importance to the organization. 


  • This course consists of a variety of communication and related topics that relate to your ability to establish and develop effective relationships at work. The topics we will cover include reading body language, identifying emotions, detecting "honest signals," and special communication skills related to specific relationship scenarios.

  • In this course we will first turn our attention to customer service. We will explore the principles and best practices associated with providing outstanding client service. We will also explore the use of Service Level Agreements as a means of formalizing and codifying the relationship between service provider and customer. We conclude by exploring the role of active listening as an important technique for communicators generally and service providers in particular.


  • To successfully implement the organization's strategy, leaders and followers must work together in a collaborative fashion. This course presents the Transformational Leadership model and an approach to followership that can facilitate collaboration between leaders and followers.

  • ADB Competency Framework
  • Organizational resilience (OR) "is an outcome of the organization's capability to anticipate and respond to disruption related risks and its capacity to adapt to complex or changing circumstamces under conditions of uncertainity". OR aims to transform ADB to a more resilient organization. This course provides basic knowledge and appreciation of organizational resilience including concepts, terminologies and best practices. It also provides understanding of ADB’s action plans to achieving organizational resilience.
